Clinical Relevance: Rates of uterine preserving apical prolapse surgery have been increasing due to data supporting their non-inferiority to methods using concomitant hysterectomy and patients attitudes toward preserving their uterus. Benefits of uterine preservation prolapse surgery include decreased operative times and decreased blood loss. Sacrospinous ligament hysteropexy is a good approach for patients who desire a native tissue repair via vaginal approach with uterine preservation and this technique is an option for patients who need a short operative time due to comorbidities or for certain cases in which avoiding extensive dissection is desired.
