Urogynecology Fellow

Surbhi Agrawal, MD is currently a urogynecology fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Agrawal completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency training at New York University, where she conducted multiple clinical research projects and presented at a number of conferences, including AUGS. Dr. Agrawal’s current research includes exploring new treatments for genitourinary syndrome of menopause and improving the management of recurrent urinary tract infections. She is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion AUGS committee since January 2023.
In 2021, Dr. Agrawal was awarded the AUGS Resident Award for Excellence and the AUGS Resident Scholar Award. In residency, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was elected to serve as secretary of the NYU chapter from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Agrawal served as Education Chief in her residency program, and in both 2021 and 2022, received the Best Senior Teaching Resident award.
Prior to her residency training, Dr. Agrawal completed her medical school education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she first started conducting clinical research. As part of the Columbia-Basset program, she received a Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification for developing quality improvement skills, and was chosen to be her class AAMC representative, seeking to improve education resources for her student colleagues. She was awarded the John Gibbons Medical Student Award through ACOG.
Dr. Agrawal graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Arts in the Biological Basis of Behavior and a minor in Health Care Management from the Wharton School. She has also performed basic science research through the National Institutes of Health examining molecular targets for antitumor agents.
