Joseph White, MD, MS (Joey) is a Clinical Instructor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michgian with interest in pursuing a career in Urogynecology. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 2014, Dr. White pursued a MS in global health from Northwestern University. As part of his MS program, Dr White partnered with an NGO in Kabale, Uganda focusing on reproductive and sexual health interventions. Dr. White obtained his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine. There he was a member of the Health Justice Scholars Track and inducted into the Gold Humanism Society in 2020. Dr. White matched and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan. (2020-2024). During residency he traveled to work and learn in Ghana, fostering the University of Michigan's long standing global health partnership with OBGYNs in Accra and Ho. He was selected as Quality Improvement Chief during his fourth year. Dr. stayed at the University of Michigan following graduation as a Clinical Instructor, serving in a generalist role and to continue to receive mentorship from he incredible Urogynecology Division led by Dr. Dee Fenner. He hopes to pursue fellowship training in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. In his spare time, Joey enjoys traveling, playing tennis (sometimes with Dr. Dan Morgan), peloton, Notre Dame football, and spending time with his three nieces.
