Dr. Gina Northington is currently Professor and Director of the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Prior to joining the faculty at Emory, Dr. Northington was an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania where she also completed her fellowship training. Dr. Northington’s clinical areas of interest include geriatric gynecology, neuromodulation, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and overactive bladder. She has participated in clinical trials and translational research projects investigating mechanisms of female pelvic floor disorders and has co-authored several articles and book chapters related to female pelvic floor disorders. Institutionally, Dr. Northington has chaired multiple committees at Emory University SOM including the Emory SOM Deans Faculty Advisory Committee, Emory SOM Faculty Committee on Appointments and Promotions, and the Emory Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. National leadership roles include past Chair of the AUGS Presidential Task Force on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Chair of the AUGS Basic Science Subcommittee and Director-at-Large on the AUGS Board.
