Gini Ikwuezunma, M.D., MSCR is a Urogynecology fellow at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology and Cell Biology from the University of Georgia with honors. He completed his Medical degree and Master’s in clinical translation research at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health Sciences Center. He was distinguished with the Banov Award for his International work in Haiti, Jamaica, Uganda and Tanzania. He served on several leadership committees and assisted with the formation of the Center of Global Health at MUSC. He completed his residency at Meharry Medical College. He has a passion for education, and has contributed to developing cadaver-based courses during training. His current research interests include leveraging augmented reality for simulation-based training, urethral diverticulum, surgical outcomes of urogenital fistulas, management of pelvic floor disorders after gynecologic malignancy, 3D ultrasound and MRI imaging of the pelvic floor, and sonographic imaging of pelvic floor disorders in the fourth trimester.
