Vina Nguyen-Lumpkin, M.S. is a fourth-year medical student at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and has a strong research focus on women’s health. Her work includes cross-sectional analyses of clinical trials on vulvodynia and vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES), as well as field research on sex differences in blood pressure regulation.
In addition to her research, Vina is particularly passionate about improving healthcare access in rural areas, addressing the challenges faced by underserved populations, and ensuring equitable care for all. She has held leadership roles within the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), where she has worked to enhance the professional development of fellow students and advocate for policies that advance osteopathic medicine.
Currently, Vina serves as a member on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) District VII Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Excellence (DEIE) Committee, where she advocates for diversity and inclusion in medicine, focusing on promoting access to medical education for underrepresented minorities. Beyond her advocacy efforts, Vina is deeply committed to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of medical professionals, recognizing the importance of a diverse and inclusive medical community in providing comprehensive and compassionate care.
