Dr. Tarnay is a Health Science Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urology, and Chief of Urogynecology in OBGYN. Co-Director of the Center for Women’s Pelvic Health. Completed his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at UCLA School of Medicine and fellowship in Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Harbor - UCLA Medical Center. Associate Program Director for the Fellowship in URPS and past Chief of Staff for the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Dr Tarnay is a specialist in Robotic Surgery expanding the role for minimally invasive surgery for both prolapse repair and complex gynecologic conditions.
In the role as physician and medical educator, Dr. Tarnay helps trains resident physicians and medical students in the discipline and art of maternal care and women’s reproductive health. He is a recipient of the Serge and Yvette Dadone Clinical Teaching Award, recognizing sustained excellence in medical education. He is the Associate Program Director for the Fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
He is President and Medical Director for Medicine for Humanity, an international medical care and teaching non-profit organization. Each year Dr. Tarnay leads a team of doctors and nurses traveling internationally providing expertise, support and care. Through a sustainable program of service and education they have created a sustainable program to reduce maternal morbidity and treat genitourinary fistulae.
