Dobie Giles, MD, MS, MBA is the current AUGS Treasurer and is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health. He completed his undergraduate B.S. degree at Middle Tennessee State University with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. He then obtained a M.S. degree in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating from medical school at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Giles completed an Ob/Gyn residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin before completing his FPMRS fellowship at Mayo Clinic Arizona. He recently completed an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Dr. Giles is the former Vice Chair of Finance in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Giles has been an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) since 2005 and has served on the Finance Committee since 2018. He was on the Membership Committee (2016-2019) and spent 3 years as Chair. In addition, he was a member of the Outreach Council (2016-2019) as well as the Quality and Research Registry Taskforce (2015-2016).
Dr. Giles has received numerous local and national teaching awards. Between the years of 2010 and 2014, he accepted the Excellence in Resident Education Award (CREOG 2010), Excellence in Medical Student Education Award (APGO 2010), and the Mentor of the Year Award (ACOG 2014). More recently, Dr. Giles has received the Dolores A. Buchler Award for Excellence in Instruction at the Senior Resident Level (UW Dept Ob/Gyn 2017) and the Karl A. Rudat Award for Excellent Surgical Training at Senior Resident Level (UW Dept Ob/Gyn 2020).
