I am a 1st year fellow at Albert Einstein - Montefiore Medical Center in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Surgery. I completed my OBGYN residency training at Hackensack Meridian - Jersey Shore University Medical Center where I served as the Administrative Chief Resident in my final year. I completed my medical education at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. I completed my undergraduate coursework at New York University where I studied mathematics and computer science.
Throughout my academic years, I have applied my background in mathematics, computer science, and clinical research to furthering medical knowledge. During my undergraduate years, I worked at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory where under the guidance of Dr. Michael Schatz, developed the computer program GenomeScope, which is able to assist in the assembly and analysis of complex DNA datasets. In medical school, I worked within the Urology department on several clinical research projects analyzing various treamtent modalities for Overactive Bladder in patient's with Parkinson's Disease, which sparked my interest in urogynecology. In residency, I worked with much of the faculty to analyze barriers to care for different populations such as looking at the rate of adherence to treatment of OAB in Hispanic women, as well as uncovering a 10 fold lower cesearan rate among Ashkenazi Jewish women versus the general population.
As for my nonacademic interests, I have a strong passion for martial arts, in which I have been training for more than 20 years. I have a first degree black belt from Tiger Schulmann's Mixed Martial Arts, where I continue to train in Muay Thai (kickboxing), Jiu-Jitsu (submission grappling) and traditional Karate. The discipline I acquired from my martial arts training has been my driving force in my accomplishments in my academic career.
