Carolyn W. Swenson, M.D. is an Associate Professor and Division Chief of Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Utah. After completing her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Utah in 2012, she went to the University of Michigan for fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. As faculty at the University of Michigan, she was a scholar in the NIH's Women's Reproductive Health Research career-development program. She has received NIH funding for her research identifying the structural and biomechanical causes of pelvic organ prolapse and her current research is focused on primary prevention of pelvic floor disorders.
