RT05: How to Conduct Scientific Peer Review

Description/Outline: In this roundtable session, the facilitators will discuss the purposes of scientific peer review, how to evaluate a manuscript, and how to write a peer review. We will present best practices from urogynecology journals. We will discuss how journals evaluate peer reviewers as well. Literature will be presented to outline different approaches to writing peer reviews and examples of reviews will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in the discussion format of this session. Additionally, we will discuss tips for establishing a peer-review mentorship relationship.
